The Ryukyu no utage is an annual festival held in Okinawa Japan. The festival is organized by a local shrine and held in front of a capacity crowd of 5000 or more people.

The aim of the festival is to promote cultural awaeness and unity through the arts, displaying not only those of Okinawa but also of guest performers from around the world.

The goal of Okinawa Americana to bridge the cultural divide in Okinawa through music.

While this technically isn't a live event video, it was shot like one. I was approached by a team of dancers in Okinawa, all of whom were from different diciplines of dance, cultural backgrounds and ages. The had an idea to create a video that would showcase what they were capable of work as a team, collaberating to create an eclectic dance video. We shot the entire video in a few hours as their schedules didn't allow for more.

True unity can be shown through dance because of it’s diversity. So that’s why this showcase is our mark. This is our one shot for the world to know! I hope you all enjoy the show! Let’s get it!
