I recently took a trip to Australia to photograph Lyn & Rodney’s wedding at a private wedding resort on Stradbroke Island (An Island Hideaway).
In many ways as a wedding photographer you get used to thinking on your feet and moving with the unexpected; it is something that I really believe makes you a better photographer, this day was no exception…
Firstly the wedding was on an island, which meant that we had to take a boat there with the bridal party and get ready on the island before the guests arrived…Shooting bridal photos on a bumpy boat was quite new to me, and also very fun!
The ceremony and after ceremony photos were not too much of a step away from the norm, but then we jumped into a 4×4 and drove across the island on a sand road to one of Australia’s beautiful long, straight, deserted, sandy beaches for a private shoot with the newly wedds before the dinner reception began…I was just in awe at how amazing the place was…truly breath taking!
From there we returned for the dinner and then the dancing began! What a great night and a great crowd…
